The Feast of Spring and the Resurrection of Christ is approaching fast, although it seems to us that the world has become immobile for fear of coronavirus. We stay at home, our lives flow more intensely than a month ago. However, the celebration of the greatest Christian holiday will not wait! And while it is more than certain that there will be no gatherings, little Easter at home is worth it anyway. Indeed, in a small family circle, the festive menu and Easter customs will be the reason for the joy and variegation of the daily corona routine.

Or did you (like us) decide to use Easter as an impulse to express human connection - and at the door of your parents, grandparents or neighbors, you are determined to "park" a basket full of Easter goodies and share with them at a safe distance delicious Easter delights? Go ahead!

The colorful menu is a celebration of appetite for life

There are plenty of recipes for the preparation of salty and sweet Easter delicacies. You will certainly not miss Easter stars such as potato salad with mayonnaise, ham or spinach rolls filled with horseradish, , salty cakes with vegetable salad of radish, spinach, chives, sprouts, home-made ham and eggs to stuffed eggs and creatively processed chick-eggs in the lead role. The sweet repertoire of this holiday inherently includes baked Easter lamb, easter cakes, brightly colored gingerbreads in the shape of eggs and chickens, but also cream or other fine cakes with stuffings. You can prepare all this easily and quickly at home - because this year you have two aces in your sleeve when cooking and baking! The first is your children who are so bored at home that they will be happy to help you to cook, bake, cut, stir and whisk, and the second is - our Orava kitchen helpers!

Easter wreath 

Sour dough can be easily prepared with Orava KR-500 food processor

INGREDIENTS:

2 dcl of lukewarm milk, 1 PL of powdered sugar, 15 g of yeast, 300 g of plain flour,
1 egg, 1 dcl of oil, pinch of salt, 2 PL of raisins soaked in rum, almonds, 2 PL of milk
for garnish, 2 PL apricot jam, for decoration chopped almonds, raisins, dried fruits

PREPARATION:

We make a sourdough from milk, sugar, salt and yeast. Add the egg, oil, sourdough
to the sieved flour and make a smooth dough, which is left to rise for 30 minutes.
Then add the raisins, the chopped almonds and leave to rise for another 40 minutes.
Divide the dough into 3 parts and knit the braid, twist to the shape of a wreath and
fold it on a baking sheet. Let it rise for 30 minutes. Brush with milk and bake for
25 - 35 minutes. After baking the wreath, pour over boiled jam and 1 PL of water and     
decorate according to imagination

Home-made mayonnaise 

Orava RM-206

Ingredients:

2 yolks, 1 PL mustard (Dijon or full fat), 300 ml sunflower oil, salt,
ground black pepper, lemon juice

Preparation:

All ingredients must be at room temperature. Therefore, eggs and
mustard must be removed from the refrigerator at least two hours in advance.
Separate the yolks into a larger bowl, add the mustard and mix well with a whisk.
Measure the oil in a measuring cup with a narrowed spout. This is important for
slow pouring. If we do not have one, we can pour directly from the bottle and
control the thickness with the thumb. For blending with oil, we can also use
a table blender, into which the mixture is poured and slowly (dropwise) pour oil
until the mixture slowly begins to thicken and gain in volume. Then we can add
oil in larger portions. Finally, season with salt, pepper and a few drops of lemon juice.
