The hot water from the kettle is also excellent for pouring breakfast porridge. When we are suddenly overwhelmed by acute hunger, SOS rescue can be instantly flooded with hot water. Since the kettle is fast-boiling, so it boils the water really expressively, faster, as if it was heated on a gas or electric stove, we often use it for auxiliary work during cooking. For example, when hungry people are already stepping around the table and can't wait for pasta, we can first let the water boil in a kettle and just pour such hot water into the pot - in it, the pasta is prepared quickly. However, in order for the kettle to serve us faithfully for many years, we should take good care of it.
How often do you clean it?
The more often we use the kettle, the more it is in danger of being destroyed, chipped or clogged with calcium deposits. The required cleaning frequency also depends on the hardness of the water used. The harder the water, the more limescale settles inside it in less time. If you use the kettle 3 to 5 times a day, it is recommended to clean the kettle once a month in areas with very hard and hard water. If you are lucky enough to live in an area with soft and medium hard water, it will be enough if you clean the kettle once every 2-3 months.
Limescale - a more serious problem than you think
The limescale at the bottom of the kettle looks awful and immediately convicts the owner of the kettle of negligence about the appliance. However, if it was just the appearance ... Accumulated calcium deposits can also unpleasantly affect the taste of the prepared drink. The appliance itself also suffers from their presence - the heating efficiency decreases, the water heats up longer, which, of course, you pay extra for, and sometimes the appliance can break down due to a thick layer of limescale - it overheats and has to go to a service center. In the worst case, to the collection yard.

Vinegar, lemon, baking soda or chemistry?
This simple recipe, which you should try the evening before you go to bed, will help you clean the kettle from limescale: take a solution of water (2 parts) and vinegar (1 part) into 2/3 of the kettle. After boiling, let the liquid stand in the kettle until the next day, then pour it out. Then don't forget to rinse the kettle thoroughly - boil water that you won't drink 2 to 3 times - it may still have an unpleasant vinegar flavor. Tell the other members of the household that you are cleaning the kettle so that they do not pour water with the rest of the vinegar in the morning with their tea or coffee. That would be a very annoying awake! Vinegar is a very strong cleaner, so use it for heavy deposits of limescale in the kettle. However, the smell of vinegar can interfere with someone. In this case, you can prepare a mixture of water and citric acid (3-4 tablespoons) or water and baking soda (just one teaspoon in water with a volume of 2/3 from a kettle) will suffice. If you have neither one at home fresh lemon juice will suffice. However, this solution is weaker, so you usually have to repeat it several times. Special chemical calcium salt removers based on citric acid, which you can buy at the drugstore, are also more gentle on the spiral of the electric kettle. You can choose tablets, powder or liquid - some brands even boasted of easy biodegradability of the products. Read and follow the manufacturer's advice and recommendations before use.
Prevention? Use filtered water!
If you use water that you have previously filtered in the filter kettle to boil in the kettle instead of tap water, you will make cleaning the kettle much easier. Thanks to the effective filter, the water in the filter kettle gets rid of harmful substances, chlorine, unsuitable organic substances and excessive hardness. The "softer" water filtered in this way is then more suitable for use in other electrical appliances - steam irons, aroma diffusers, facial saunas, etc.
Beautiful on the outside too
Once you have cleaned the inside of the kettle, do not forget to keep it clean from the outside. First of all unplug the kettle and let it cool down completely. Make sure you do not immerse any part of it - neither the body of the kettle, nor the base / pedestal, nor the cable. Do not use harsh detergents, just wipe the kettle gently on the outside with a damp cloth soaked in a liquid detergent or in a solution of water and baking soda / water and vinegar / water and lemon juice. Finally, polish the kettle with a soft dry cloth.
